We’re big college football fans, and in the Sugar Bowl, we’re cheering on Cincinnati (from where Scott originates and where I previously worked). While this blog is about consciously living in order to give away money, we are deviating from our usual posts to pay tribute to Mitch Stone, the Bearcats and Florida’s Tim Tebow for their incredible service to others. For those of you who are not familiar with the stories, through a program called Friends of Jaclyn, the Bearcats adopted Mitch Stone, a 12-year old with cancer, and Mitch adopted the Bearcats. They’ve supported each other throughout the season by being there for each other at games, at the hospital and otherwise. (A shout out also to Mitch’s twin Nick)
On the other side of the field, we'll see Florida's Tim Tebow, whom I find crazy fun to watch. Tim has been engaged in many charitable activities over his lifetime, including work with orphans in the Philippines and work with prisoners in the United States.
We’re excited to watch football today, but we’re most excited simply to see these great examples of people serving others represented on the field today.
